To run for elected office and challenge an elected official necessitating a "primary" election. To defeat an elected official through a primary election, thereby pushing the loser out of office. Example: Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor was "primaredout" of office / Congress by challenger David Brat who beat Mr. Cantor in the primary election and thus became the Republican candidate for the 7th District of Virginia.
