#ShiftDavao Explores the Power of Social Media

shift Davao City - #SHIFTDavao is a conference aimed at teaching social media users and online advertisers a variety of strategies and tools that will improve engagement in different social media platforms. Since millions of online users belong to one or more social media networks, it is essential to learn how to communicate better with the target audience, as well as gauge response. #SHIFTDavao is presented by SHIFT. It is endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI and Archbishop Romula Valles, DD, of the Archdiocese of Davao. The event is set for July 27, 2013 from 8am to 5pm at the Finster Auditorium, Ateneo de Davao University, Roxas St., Davao City, Philippines. A remote venue is also set up at the University of the Immaculate Conception (Bajada Campus) Auditorium at J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City. The objectives of the conference include spreading information on virtual communities and educating users on how to market online by establishing solid relationships, expanding social media networks and using different techniques to reach the target audience more effectively. Business owners and companies can increase brand awareness quickly and boost sales by investing in social media. Students and teachers from different educational institutions are invited to join. It is one of the pioneering?events in the Philippines focused solely on the social media and its power to effect change.shiftdavao Tech and social media experts who will be speaking at the conference include Maria Ressa, CEO and founder of Rappler, Atty. Yvez Gonzalez, MMDA consultant for ?technology and communications, Luke Meinzen of the US Embassy of Manila, Sec. Lucille Sering of the?Philippines' Climate Change Commission, Robert Shore of Frame Works Institute, Bianca Gonzalez, ABS-CBN celebrity host and reporter, Engr. Jaypee David of Globe Telecom and Micheal Josh Villanueva, TechRap producer at Rappler. Payments can be made online via EventBrite?or through designated outlets.
