Vine Now Includes Hashtags

April 10, 2013
Vine-logoVine announced on April 5, 2013 that it has launched a new hashtag feature that will guide online users in finding good quality content.?The changes can be seen on the Explore section of the website. Vine is a video sharing service that was acquired by Twitter just a few months ago. It is widely known for showcasing 6-second videos uploaded and created by online users. The Explore section now lets you view trending hashtags so people can discuss and exchange information. It is still unknown whether the new update also has a similar algorithm as the trending tweets on Twitter; but users will certainly have fun finding out in the next weeks. One of the reasons why the company decided to include hashtags was that there were excellent posts and conversations that never reach the popular sections.?Several of the good posts include a hashtag so Vine found it viable to help online users find the right topic and boost interaction. Current Vine users do not need to download or update anything to start using the new update. Open the Twitter app then immediately go to the Explore section to find the various trending hashtags. Vine is one of the fastest growing companies online. In March 2013, it experienced growth by 1300%. The company was initially created and founded by Dom Hofmann and Rus Yusupov in June 2012. Colin Kroll served as CTO. Twitter acquired Vine in October 2012 and was immediately offered on the iPod Touch and iPhone as a free app. Currently, Twitter is aiming to include the product in other platforms. Using the app, online users can make short video clips that last only a maximum of 6 seconds. There is an in-app camera provided. Individuals can also expect an audio file and effects that are quite similar to gif files. More users are relying on Vine to quickly share videos for casual and professional use.
