This year is our 7th Annual Suicide Awareness Ride. First, we would like to thank everyone that has attended our charity benefit in the past. Last year we raised over $7K and since 2007 we have raised, with your help, nearly $33K. Our Suicide Awareness Ride is on November 16th . The meet up spot for the ride is at club 92 off of Falkenberg and Hwy 92 in Tampa. The ride is open to cars and bikes, independents, members and family's. If you are not participating in the ride, you can meet us where the ride will end which is at Peabodys located at 15333 Amberly Dr. in Tampa at 12NOON.
We chose this charity in 2007 because a dear friend of ours, Maggie Dennis, committed suicide and we needed the knowledge of how to prevent this from happening to other family's.
The Suncoast Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention and Awareness Program recently fought for the reprisal of the Presidential bill wherein the President of the United States will not and does not send a letter to the families of service members who've taken their own lives. This may sound small to the common person, but for this organization and others like it, this is a huge step forward on the road less taken which is the fight for suicide awareness and prevention.
What we need is maximum participation this year. We've been able to slowly but gradually increase the funds that we generate for our charity. Every year we want to take it to the next level. For those of you that attended last year, you know we had a lot of nice giveaways. This year we will have even more large giveaways. A small donation of $15 will make a big impact for our charity, your donation will include prepared food and drinks.
