Lissted, the web application that groups journalists on Twitter, has released an effective tool that lets users follow interesting lists of journos who tweet about specific topics and issues. RealWire, the parent company of Lissted, has created a solid reputation for the brand, which has become a highly valued web tracking tool for updates and news on the world of journalists. If you're looking to read discussions on particular current events, a simple search on Lissted will lead you to a thread of journalists whose tweets are related to what you are seeking. Lissted (@lissted) presently records around 12,824 journalists based on more than 3,450 Twitter sources. More than 100,000 tweets are filtered on a daily basis. Public lists have also been made so that anyone on Twitter can easily subscribe and keep track of specific information. The dynamic Twitter list includes thousands of media outlets and professionals covering particular subjects. The lists will continue to function even when using other third-party platforms, like TweetDeck or HootSuite. Updates are made automatically. That said, online users can now expect to consume a lot more valuable and targeted information compared to searching mere keywords and featured retweets that were followed before. With the list, Twitter users can browse full conversations and use these in conjunction with the other tools where you have subscribed. Even journalists and companies will work better by identifying the right sources and getting to the source directly. Some of the subjects that are popular as of this writing on Lissted include the new iPhone 5, the UK cabinet reshuffle and the US Open. The popular lists will be presented on Lissted free of charge, although each list will be restricted to about 500 journalists maximum. Of course, there are several factors to be considered when helping users determine the most related media sources. Included in the determining aspects are the Klout score, activity level and most frequently mentioned words or topics. "The Lissted application is able to create these dynamic and highly-targeted Twitter lists through a combination of its in-depth and thoroughly curated database, real-time indexing and proprietary list-building processes. Lists are updated constantly, with new active members being added all the time, and members that no longer fit the relevance criteria automatically removed," said RealWire (@RealWireFeed) in a statement. This new lissted feature was unveiled in September 7, 2012.
