TweetDeck Unveils New And Improved Features

October 11, 2012
Twitter announced on October 11, 2012 that it will be releasing a TweetDeck update. Tagged TweetDeck 2.0.1, the change will be ideal for managing several timelines on Facebook and Twitter. The new release will be offered for Windows, Mac, Chrome and other online platforms. Users can expect a variety of features and new designs. They can also customize the layout depending on their particular style and preference. The interface is neater and darker than before. However, there are themes that use lighter tones. The font size can also be adjusted to improve visualization. Some of the other things to expect with the new TweetDeck on Twitter include the improved column navigator, profile adjustments and list management. Early testing, however, showed that some of the previous bugs might still be present, like scheduling posts for Facebook and scheduling tweets with attached photos. The new look allows users to easily browse between platforms so everything is enhanced in terms of readability and ease-of-use. It is also much cleaner and tidier. There are three pre-defined adjustments to be made depending on what the user wants. The visual improvements are the most noticeable. Tweets from all columns are removed when the person tweeting is unfollowed or blocked. Popup windows and links can also be reorganized to improve the aesthetic appeal of the layout. TweetDeck is wholly-owned by Twitter. The social micro-blogging site purchased TweetDeck in 2011 for $40 million to improve its arsenal of applications. The timeline manager is different from the official app of Twitter, which is a different client. TweetDeck can be acquired for free. The application on Windows will install the updates automatically, while those using Chrome will have to restart the web browser to install the new release. People using Mac can download the update from the Mac App Store online. TweetDeck is ideal for individuals using two or more social networking sites, particularly Twitter and Facebook. The timeline manager app allows users to quickly update and adjust the settings according to their personal preference. Users can stay notified on recent changes and actions pertaining to their accounts between social media platforms. What do you think of this new update on TweetDeck? How helpful do you think it will be for you? Let us know in the comments!
