Science perverted by the GMO industry.
Genetically Modified Science studies fall under the following categories.
- Studies openly sponsored by the Big Ag firms such as Monsanto, Bayer, Dow or Syngenta.
- Studies ghost-written by the same and underwritten by some complacent 'scientists' - often 'consulting' for Big Ag firms. Monsanto has been exposed systematically resorting to these tactics to influence food safety agencies, politicians and the public at large. However, Monsanto is only the tip of the iceberg; other firms are also following the same practices. These studies claim to be 'independent' but fail to disclose concealed conflict of interest.
- Studies or PR articles that are published by universities with a close relationship with Big Ag firms. Cornell or Purdue are well known examples.
- Studies published by individuals with a known bias for Big Ag and with blatant conflict of interest such as Kevin Folta (Monsanto 'consultant') or some ex Monsanto employees.
These studies often cite each other as a proof of 'consensus'.
GMO proponents will cite these studies abundantly and claim that other, truly independent, studies are wrong because in minority.
