Nepalese Diploma in Mountain Medicine run by the Mountain Medicine Society of Nepal. This course is approved by the Union Internationale des Associations d’Alpinisime(UIAA) , International Society of Mountain Medicine (ISMM) and International Commission for Alpine Rescue(IKAR).
The main aim of this course is to train Nepalese doctors along with international doctors in the home country with syllabus tailored to suit the local needs without compromising the international standards. Besides the theoretical part, the diploma encompasses practical hands on skills on rope techniques, surviving skills, rescue techniques, practical traumatology and practical advice from the international instructors. Qualified instructors and mountain guides deliver the course in English.
The Nepalese Diploma is supported by the Medical Expeditions-UK, Swiss Society of Mountain Medicine, Austrian Society of Mountain Medicine, German Society of Mountain Medicine (BExMED), Swiss Alpine Club, Alpine Club-UK, Porters Progress UK, and many other individuals and organizations.
