Post World War Two style Homes for returning veterans after the end of the Second World War. These are wood frame homes build across Canada on both military bases as well as in established residential areas of many Canadian cities and towns. Generally, there are three main models. A two bedroom bungalow; a two bedroom one, and one half floor home; and a 3 bedroom, one and one half floor home. On military bases some of the veteran homes were also built as Semi-detached one, and one half floor Homes. The Carlington area of Ottawa, was one of the first veteran home communities in Canada
