The Santa Fe Trail Association is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit, dedicated to the preservation, promotion, protection and education of the historic of the Santa Fe Trail, 1821-1880.

In 1821, Wm Becknell departed from Franklin, MO and opened the Santa Fe Trail to trade with his first successful trading trip after arriving safely in Santa Fe, NM. In 2021, the Santa Fe Trail Association will commemorate the 200th anniversary throughout the year.
