"This book marries interviews and some little-known historical tidbits about President Obama's culture and life experience with fictional dialogues and events which could have taken place in any corner of the world. ...illustrated with wonderful photography of places the President has lived in and/or been connected to in addition to creative artwork. I was taken on a journey around the planet from Hawaii to Kenya. Each chapter felt like I was moving from one exhibition to another in a museum or art gallery. I liken it to walking through a documentary. The fictional accounts provided me an opportunity to consider how Barack Obama's rise to the most powerful office in the United States has touched and inspired people across all classes, genders, ages, and ethnicities. Obama Search Words is well-crafted, informative, and enlightening." Raychelle Writes blog

Written by artist/writer and supported by Book Merah, Contact With Shadow combines a modern day emotional breakdown with the history of pre-Linotype printing. "It's a double pleasure to read this... First, there's the joy of gleaning nuggets of knowledge about Singapore and the printed word hitherto unknown; and second, there's the childlike wonder of never knowing what Stephen Black has in store for us on the next page." ~ Ng Yi-Sheng Singapore Literature Prize recipient Contact With Shadow is a beautifully anarchic collage of historical facts and fiction rounded out with love. Spiky and tender, light-hearted and serious, it is informative, fun and moving ? an unconventional love letter to a city that few take the time to get to know. -Vikki Weston, professional editor

Furikake is a book inspired by a mixture of spices, a dry Japanese condiment meant to be sprinkled on top of rice. Nine tales set in the Far East, mainly Singapore, linked by a different declination of furikake, like a recipe book full of savoury ingredients. Furikake was written by Stephen Black and supported by Book Merah.

Written by artist/writer Stephen Black, I Ate Tiong Bahru is a lyrical documentary about one of Singapore's oldest neighborhoods."Unlike anything else I've read... funny quirks yet balances the political undertone perfectly. The book involves history, humor, culture and most importantly, food (or rather, taste). -Barrett Books (@Thea_Books) ... reads like a travelogue, a personal story and a history book... a pleasure to read. - www.breviewer.com I Ate Tiong Bahru is a must-read for gourmets, architects, historians and just about anyone who wishes to learn more about this evolving neighborhood. -5 star review on Amazon
