On behalf of the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, Tawakkol Karman Foundation, and Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), we cordially invite you to attend a one-day conference entitled “Towards Sustainable Peace and Democracy in Yemen” in Washington D.C. The conference will take place on January 9, 2023, from 9 am to 5:00 pm at Georgetown University (Lohrifnk Auditorium).

Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, and Tawakkol Karman Foundation, and the Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) are partnered to convene a conference that will bring together diverse perspectives among leading Yemeni figures, subject matter experts, academics and policymakers to discuss different scenarios and how best to reach a permanent ceasefire and to build lasting peace. We will center discussion on practical matters and policy recommendations that will allow for a peaceful and inclusive transition to democratic rule, as well as what steps the international community should take to rebuild Yemen.
