The process by which societies, enterprises, and individuals undergo change through the creation and adoption of connected, digital technologies. These processes are both REACTIVE and CAUSATIVE, with varying degrees of purpose and intent. 1) Societies are undergoing transformative change as governments and infrastructure, cultural groups and tribes, and economic institutions adopt digital modes. 2) Enterprises are driving much of the digital transformation by a) creating transformative technologies and business models, and b) themselves transforming they way people and systems work to create value in the global economy. 3) Individuals are the governing mechanism for the speed of this transformation as they adopt and integrate digital technologies and services into their day-to-day lives.
