Millennial Leaders Program at Union Theological Seminary
For some, activism is an expression of their spirituality. For others, their activism is their spirituality. For this first time, July 13 ? 17, 2014 Union Theological Seminary is convening the Millennial Leaders Summer Conference, a gathering of 40 activists and leaders, between the ages of 21 and 35 years old, from across the country and from a variety of religious traditions (including no religious tradition). Conference participants will gather on Union?s campus in New York City to examine the significance of spirituality to their various forms of social justice activism. This opportunity will afford participants an opportunity to look at their work in new ways, to network and build relationships with activists from across the country, and develop strategies to sustain their work over the long term. The Millennial Leaders Summer Conference builds upon the world class theological training that Union Theological Seminary provides, as well as the legacy of progressive religious activism that the seminary has fostered throughout it?s history. Ultimately, the Millennial Leaders Project aims to help build bridges that support a broad movement to address the many forms of social and economic inequality that divide the world today.
