The executive today is so extraordinarily busy complying to local, international and corporate rules and procedures, attending and responding to various audits, preparing death-by-powerpoint presentations, amidst an avalanche of e-mails and meetings, stressed by a stream of deadlines, both internal and external, personal and professional that one has very little residual time to one’s own assignments, projects, and initiatives. Often, this time is squeezed further by putting out various fires that are burning at various places in the organization. So, the average employee today is hyper-active without specifically contributing to personal, professional or organizational development leading to an epidemic of the MAFA syndrome.
