Sometimes stories have a positive or negative spin to them. When a ladyspin is offered, it will have a female spin to it. For example if one says females are not good at math, the ladyspin on that statement is that females are conditioned not to be good at math and distracted by other ideas so that math is not appealing to them.

This term is derived from the concept of "spinning" a story - usually a story with a political spin to it. Ladyspin is a response to a story from a female point of view, most often during a lively debate with a male point of view.

A response from an opponent, usually a female, who presents an opinion from the female gender point of view. This usually happens during a controversial debate that may have offered a male point of view.

When a controversial or erroneous view is presented, another view is presented from the female gender point of view. For example, a misogynistic statement might be countered by a female who "ladyspins" a response.
