Autoimmune Arthritis Primary joint diseases that have an autoimmune component. While joint involvement is a primary factor, because they are autoimmune diseases and inflammatory in nature they also affect the connective and soft tissues and even organs. Classic Autoimmune Arthritis Diseases include: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), Primary Sjogren's Syndrome (SS), Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE), Still's Disease, Juvenile Arthritis (JA), Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease/Undifferentiated Spondyloarthropathy (UCTD/USpA) Related Autoimmune Arthritis Diseases include: Those diseases that are primary gastrointestinal, connective tissue, vascular, muscular, etc, with an autoimmune component but also involve the joints are considered Related Autoimmune Arthritis Diseases. To be a Classic Autoimmune Arthritis it must be a primary joint disease (primarily arthritis in nature). Examples of Related Autoimmune Arthritis diseases include Scleroderma (primary connective tissue) and Crohn's (primary gastointestinal).
